Purpose and Effect of Halton Hills Official Plan Amendment 63:
The purpose of Draft Official Plan Amendment 63 is to establish a Protected Major Transit Station Area (PMTSA) in close proximity to the Georgetown GO Station, in accordance with section 16(15) of the Planning Act. Policies for the proposed PMTSA will:

• Identify a minimum density target (people and jobs per hectare) for the PMTSA;
• Identify land use designations and permitted uses within the PMTSA; and,
• Identify minimum densities and maximum height permissions for land uses within the PMTSA.

The PMTSA boundary and policies identified in Draft Official Plan Amendment 63 were developed in accordance with section 2.4.2 of the Provincial Planning Statement.

Purpose and Effect of Halton Hills Official Plan Amendment 64:
The purpose of Draft Official Plan Amendment 64 is to establish a revised Georgetown GO Station Area/Mill Street Corridor Secondary Plan that will guide land use and future development in the Secondary Plan Precincts outside of the PMTSA. Using the Council-endorsed Preferred Land Use Plan, the Secondary Plan will implement policies, objectives and guidelines that respect the existing natural heritage and established character of the Precincts within the Secondary Plan area, outside of the PMTSA.

No decisions will be made at this meeting. (BOLD) Town staff will report back to Council at a later date seeking approval of the Official Plan Amendments.

Residents are encouraged to get involved in the following ways:

• Attend the meeting: Join in person at Town Hall, or watch live online via the Town’s meeting livestream.
• Speak to Council: To speak as a delegation, you must pre‑register by 6pm on Monday, June 1, 2026. Delegation requests can be submitted through the Town’s online delegation form. Speakers may address Council once, for up to five minutes.
• Submit written comments: Written submissions received before the meeting will be shared with staff and Council and become part of the public record.

Georgetown GO Station Protected Major Transit Station Area

The Town of Halton Hills is holding a Special Meeting of Council under Section 26 of the Planning Act to inform the public about the Town’s intent to establish a Protected Major Transit Station Area (PMTSA) around the Georgetown GO Station.

A PMTSA is an area planned for higher‑density, mixed‑use development near major transit stations. In this case, the PMTSA would apply within the Georgetown GO Station / Mill Street Corridor Secondary Plan study area (view study area map) and would guide future land use, building types, and minimum density requirements near the station.
