    • Since the mid-20th century, Prospect Park has served as the heart of communal and recreational life in Acton. The Park has hosted many events, including annual company picnics for the former Beardmore and Co., fairs, sporting events, family outings, and holiday celebrations. Improvements have been made to the Park over the years, with significant projects including the redevelopment of the play area, a new sports field, ball diamonds, and upgrades to existing buildings. This unique cultural heritage landscape, with its natural setting on Fairy Lake, has helped to preserve its historical role as a recreational and cultural landmark within the community of Acton.
    • As part of Historic Places Day led by the National Trust for Canada, the Town of Halton Hills will be hosting guided tours to highlight and showcase the longstanding history of Prospect Park & Fairy Lake in Acton. Register for a guided tour.
    • The tours will be led by:
      1. Scott Brooks of Vintage Acton – on July 12th and July 13th at 1 p.m.
      2. Mark Rowe of the Esquesing Historical Society and Heritage Halton Hills – on July 19th and July 20th at 1 p.m.
    • In lieu of tour fees, food donations will be accepted for the Acton Food Share.
    • All registered participants will be entered into a draw for a chance to win a Halton Hills prize pack.
