Town of Halton Hills Tree Voucher Survey 2024
The Town of Halton Hills values a healthy environment recognizing the benefits that trees provide.
Through the implementation of the Privately-owned Tree Management Strategy the Town recently completed the second year of the Tree Voucher Pilot Program.
Eighty-three per cent of the tree canopy in the Town of Halton Hills is on privately-owned land, meaning that residents, businesses, and landowners play a significant role in maintaining this shared natural asset, which benefits the entire community by providing essential ecosystem services and supporting biodiversity.
The goal of the Tree Voucher Pilot Program is to build a resilient tree canopy and increase the number of trees on private property by offering residents a discounted price on a tree purchase at participating retailers.
The pilot program offered residents a $50 discount on a minimum $60 tree purchase from participating retailers (Reds Garden Centre in Acton, or Sheridan Nurseries in Georgetown) from April 26 to June 30, 2024. The discount was funded in partnership between the Town and participating retailers.
This survey is for anyone who picked up a voucher in 2024, even if you did not use the voucher. If you did not pick up a voucher, but would still like to provide feedback on the program, please email Jennifer Spence at jennifers@haltonhills.ca
