Phase 1 - Engagement Summary

We’ve reviewed all feedback and summarized key themes, priorities, and opportunities, read the full report here.

The Town of Halton Hills is undertaking a review of its Mobility Master Plan (formerly known as the Transportation Master Plan) to ensure conformity with provincial and regional policies and guide future transportation investments and policy to the year 2051. With Halton Hills expected to grow significantly in the coming years, our future mobility needs will be shaped by many emerging factors, including population and employment growth, changing preferences in how we live/work/travel, technological innovations, environmental awareness, and more.

The new Mobility Master Plan (MMP) will be a comprehensive strategy that supports how people and goods move in, around and through our community. This plan is intended to assess the function of our road network to accommodate users of all modes (walking, cycling, driving, and transit) and to integrate mobility with land use planning and community building.

The study has three key phases:

  • Phase 1 - Background Review: Develop an understanding of existing network conditions and the challenges that will need to be addressed by the Mobility Master Plan study.
  • Phase 2 - Network Planning: Identify potential solutions that can address the gaps in the network and then assess and evaluate to determine the optimal solution for Halton Hills.
  • Phase 3 - Implementation: Prioritize the recommended projects and programs and establish a plan to implement them.
  • Phase 4 - Documentation and Finalization: The findings and recommendations are compiled into a final report, outlining key elements and next steps.

Phases 1 to 3 will include an in-person public open house where the Halton Hills community will be invited to learn more about the project, share their opinions, and help shape the future of Halton Hills’ transportation network. Together, we will build a vibrant Halton Hills to 2051 and beyond.

Stay tuned and follow the News feed below for updates as the study progresses.
