Take the 2026 Budget Survey

Mayor Ann Lawlor

On behalf of Halton Hills Council, I'm inviting you to share your thoughts about the 2026 Budget. Information from this very short survey will be shared with Council to inform their deliberations.

By way of background, staff were directed last July, to prepare the 2026 budget so that the average residential property tax increase for the Town’s portion would be no greater than 3.5%. This direction has resulted   in a back-to-basics budget that does not have any significant new programs or additional services. It means that essential repairs are made, popular programs continue, and parks and facilities are maintained to the   levels of previous years. Given increased demands for service, it has been difficult to trim both expenses and expectations.

The budget target will accommodate inflation, recognizing that construction cost inflation, (a primary driver of municipal expenses such as road repairs), is higher than current increases in the consumer price index.

Please let us know your thoughts.
