We are pleased to announce that Town Council approved the Queen Street Neighbourhood Traffic Calming Report on September 18.

Review the Final Report and Attachment 1.

Staff anticipates the project will be fully completed in Summer/Fall of 2024.

Over the last few years, an operational safety review was undertaken to assess the need for traffic calming measures on Queen Street and King Street in Georgetown. The review was initiated due to the increase in vehicular traffic generated by the GO station commuters traveling the roads in the neighbourhood.

A proposed traffic calming plan has been created to further ensure safety for all road users.

In June 2023, residents living within the neighbourhood and motorists driving on affected roads are encouraged to participate in a Virtual Public Information Centre (PIC) to review the proposed traffic calming plan and provide valuable feedback. Based on public feedback and traffic study results, staff will prepare a final recommendation report to Town Council on September 18, 2023.

Road safety is a shared responsibility. Learn how to file a Road Watch Report and Traffic Concern Report to the Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) and help keep our roads safe.
