What We Heard
82% of respondents preferred Option 1, featuring an obstacle course and play structure.
79% of respondents selected the brown, tan, and green colour palette.
Respondents strongly supported both the XOXO Panel and Pick-a-Pair Panel as standalone play features.
57% of respondents chose the frog as their preferred spring rider.
60% of respondents preferred the Multi-sit spinner.
How Your Feedback Shaped the Final Design
Based on community input, the playground design has been updated to reflect the features and amenities most preferred by residents.
Accessibility and Playground Improvements
The new playground will include several accessibility enhancements to help create a more inclusive play experience for all users, including:
An upgraded pathway connection from the trail to the playground, creating a smooth and easy-to-navigate surface.
A ramped connection from the trail into the playground area.
A transfer station on the play structure to support access for children with mobility challenges.
Ground-level play features that provide meaningful play opportunities for children who remain at ground level.
As part of this project, improvements will also be made to the existing trail network to strengthen connections throughout the park.
Park and Natural Area Improvements
Feedback from Initial Survey highlighted the importance of trail connectivity, site conditions, and the overall park environment. In response, the project will include the following improvements:
A review of the existing park lighting will be completed and upgrades where appropriate
Revitalize the limestone pathways within the park, enhance the playground connection from the Danville entrance.
Enhance screening and buffers for neighbouring properties through the planting of additional trees.
Increase tree planting near the playground to provide added shade.
Thank you to everyone who participated in the survey and provided feedback. Your input has helped shape a playground and park space that better reflects the needs and priorities of the community.
