As a result, a proposed traffic calming plan has been developed to enhance safety for all road users.

We want your input!

Has appropriate consideration been given to adding STOP signs on 32nd Sideroad at Sandalwood/Southwinds intersection?

Hello and thank you for taking the time to review the proposed project and provide us with your comments.

The primary purpose of an all-way stop is to allocate the right-of-way at an intersection where traffic volumes on all approaching roads are relatively equal.

All-way stop controls may not be utilized as a traffic calming measures. Unwarranted All-Way Stops could result in a number of issues, such as poor stop sign compliance, a false sense of security for pedestrians, increased rear-end and fixed object collisions, speeding between intersections, longer emergency response times, and noise and air pollution.

The implementation of an All-Way stop at the intersection of 32 Side Road and Sandalwood/ Southwinds Drive is not warranted based on the volumes and other factors.
