COVID-19 - Share the Care
Consultation has concluded
Halton Hills we’re all in this together! COVID-19 has changed how we interact; physical distancing is now part of our everyday lexicon and people are self-isolating, working remotely, caring for children and above all staying safe with family members.
Share your experiences. Tell us how you are feeling. If you know of an organization or agency that is working to support those most vulnerable, spread the message on what support they might need.
The Town is also seeking feedback from local business owners about the effects of COVID-19 in order to best support them, measure economic impact and shape response initiatives.
This is our community. Use this platform to connect and share.

Can I bring my dog to a groomer?
almost 4 years agoUnder Provincial Reg. 82/20 businesses that provide services to animals that are necessary for their health and welfare will be allowed to provide these services through curbside pickup and drop-off only. For some animals, trips to the groomer may be necessary for their health and welfare. Residents are urged to consider whether or not trips to a pet groomer are indeed necessary for their pet and if so, must adhere to all Covid safety guidelines.

Ian Carruthers asked over 4 years agoThank you for reaching out to the Town. The Town is working closely with many of the baseball organizations locally. All of these organizations are governed by their Provincial Sport Organizations (i.e. National Softball Association or Baseball Ontario). The PSO's have strict guidelines they must follow as they return to play. Minor Baseball has resumed games. It should be noted that in the Provincial Legislation for Stage 3, that team sports are only allowed to be played in leagues of no more than 50 people. All organizations are working on a model that follows this protocol. We are very excited to see kids back to sports and many of our local organizations and volunteers are working to make this happen.

Christina Huras asked over 4 years agoHello and thank you for contacting the Town. While Premier Ford did recently announce the move into Stage 3, the Region of Halton remains in Stage 2. Moving into Stage 3 will be a regional approach and this is something the Mayor of Halton Hills has been advocating for. Please see his request to Premier Ford here and click on "Halton Region Stage 3, a Letter to the Premier - July 14, 2020". Changes will not take place over night. Instead, practices and processes at the regional level will need to be gradually phased in as we digest all of the new implications that come with Stage 3 of the provincial plan.

Tamsinj asked over 4 years agoHello and thank you for reaching out to the Town. The opening of outdoor recreational areas will be dictated by the Province’s lifting of regulations. Regional Forests and Conservation Areas are not under the jurisdiction of the Town, and we do not have any control over when they will be open. Please contact the Region of Halton 311 or your local conservation authority for more information. The Town of Halton Hills parks and trails (including the Hungry Hollow trail system) have remained open, provided that visitors follow physical distancing and restrictions on gathering, for use, though park amenities remain closed.

As a follow-up to your enquiry the Town of Halton Hills will be offering temporary relief for taxpayers by removing all penalties and fees for those who need to defer payment, in light of the disruption caused by the COVID-19 outbreak. The grace period will run from April 1 to June 30, 2020. Taxpayers who are on the preauthorized tax payment plan or those who have sent post-dated cheques for their upcoming installments, have the option of staying with the current terms or cancelling the payment by emailing taxdepartment@haltonhills.ca or calling 905-873-2600 before 4:30 p.m. April 15, 2020.
Please visit haltonhills.ca for the full media release.
