Calvert Dale Parkette Playground Replacement

Thank you for your help with the design of the Calvertdale Playground Replacement !

The Town of Halton Hills Recreation and Parks Department is planning to replace the playground at Calvert Dale Parkette this fall, along with some tree planting and naturalization.

Calvert Dale Parkette
Calvert Dale is a 0.17-hectare (0.44-acre) parkette located in Georgetown North, at 17 Cotswold Court, just south of the Georgetown Mall.

The final design strikes a balance between toddler, junior, and senior user needs, offering a range of developmentally appropriate activities. Our anticipated timeline is for park construction to be completed by Summer 2024.

Based on your feedback:

• Brighter colors were added to the design.
• A belt swing and tot swing were switched out for the basket swing.
• New benches will replace existing benches on-site.
• A xylophone was requested for a musical component, and the Lemonade Stand was chosen for the stand-alone panel.
• The Canyon Climber was preferred for the climber, and the Crossway Climber was preferred over the Loopz Rings.

The proposed safety surfacing consists of engineered wood fiber, meeting CSA standards for accessibility.

Other site upgrades include:

• New park signage.
• Additional trees.
• Naturalizing the edge of the park beside the mall with trees, shrubs, and flowers.
• Three new park benches.

What's next?

Construction will commence in Summer 2024 with the removal and replacement of the playground, Other site features will be implemented in Fall 2024 or Spring of 2025.
