Roads 2021: Intersection & Active Transportation Improvements
Consultation has concluded
Each year, the Design and Construction Section of the Transportation and Public Works Department delivers Pavement Management and Capital Works construction programs to renew and improve infrastructure across Halton Hills. Beginning this spring, the Town will be completing active transportation improvements on Maple Avenue and operational and safety modifications at the Maple Avenue and Guelph Street (Highway 7) intersection.
The proposed roadway improvements include:
- New on-road and off-road cycling/active transportation facilities between Main Street and Mountainview Road.
- Turn lane modifications and reconstruction of the signalized intersection at Maple Avenue and Guelph Street.
- Road resurfacing and maintenance from Guelph Street to Mountainview Road.
- Lighting to accommodate new and existing infrastructure.
Construction will be carried out in the spring and summer of 2021. Temporary traffic signals will be constructed at the intersection to mitigate traffic impacts; however, localized traffic closures can be expected during the construction period.
