Youth at the Farmers' Market

I coordinate the Acton Farmers' Market. This will be my third season. I feel so fortunate to be able to work with a posse of young volunteers. You'll see these young people at our market every Thursday of the summer, several never missing a week. They'll have orange reflective vests on, occasionally with a walkie-talkie. Once in a while, one will come out as our mascot. Their sense of duty is admirable. Furthermore, the event wouldn't be a patch on what it is if it wasn't for their contribution.

For some reason, some people look at young people and think of delinquent behavior. There are always a few challenging cases, but there is far more good out there. I've certainly seen it. Hopefully, you have, as well.
