Consultation has concluded

people and youth watching fireworks

Background

The issue as to whether or not to ban the sale and discharge of family fireworks has been divisive amongst Town Council. There has been considerable discussion and debates both for and against changing the current by-law. As a result, Council has directed staff to conduct a statistically valid telephone survey to understand the opinions of the community.

A consultant has been retained to conduct approximately 450 telephone surveys with Halton Hills residents from August 6-25. Survey results will be presented to Council on October 28.

This project page has been established for the purposes of providing information to the public on the discussions that have occurred and the reports that have been generated. This page has not been set up to collect feedback. Residents wishing to express their thoughts on the subject of fireworks are encouraged to contact their Council member.
