Community Feedback Summary
In June 2026, we conducted a community survey to help guide the design of the playground replacement project. Your feedback played an important role in shaping the final design.
What We Heard
64% of respondents selected a rock wall climber as their preferred access point to the play structure.
Respondents strongly supported both the Musical Panel and Pick-a-Pair Panel as standalone play features.
70% of respondents preferred the multi-seat spinner.
Many respondents requested the inclusion of overhead monkey bars within the playground. To accommodate the addition of overhead monkey bars, the spring rider was ultimately removed from the final design
How Your Feedback Shaped the Final Design
Based on community input, the playground design has been updated to incorporate the features and amenities most preferred by residents, while balancing available space and accessibility considerations.
Additional Requests Unable to be Accommodated
During the engagement process, community members shared several additional suggestions for the park. While these ideas were carefully considered, they could not be accommodated within the scope of the current project due to site constraints, available space, and project budget.
These requests included:
Additional lighting.
Expansion of the playground footprint.
Installation of swings.
The project team reviewed each of these requests as part of the design process. However, incorporating these features would have required significant changes to the project scope and available space.
As part of the redevelopment, the park will feature:
A new accessible ramp into the playground
A new park sign to enhance visibility and refresh the parkette's identity.
A redesigned playground featuring new and updated play equipment selected through community consultation.
Next Steps
Construction is anticipated to begin in late Fall 2026, with work scheduled to be completed as weather and site conditions permit.
The Town looks forward to delivering an updated, accessible, and engaging playground that reflects the priorities and feedback of the community.
