What is Bike Month?

Bike Month is a vibrant, month-long celebration that encourages everyone across the Greater Toronto & Hamilton Area (GTHA), Greater Sudbury, and the City of London to embrace cycling in all its forms - whether for commuting, running errands, visiting friends and family, or simply for fun. Running from June 1st to June 30th, the campaign features dozens of events such as community rides, webinars, contests, and more, making it easy and exciting for people of all ages and abilities to get involved.

Bike Month: Join the Celebration and Discover How to Get Involve

Bike Month, hosted by the Smart Commute program, is a celebration of cycling as a healthy, fun, and sustainable way to travel. It’s a great opportunity to explore our community in Halton Hills on two wheels, stay active, and reduce your carbon footprint, all while taking part in a variety of local events and activities throughout June.

Main Activities During Bike Month include:

Bike Month Contest - Log your bike trips from June 1st to 30th on smartcommute.ca for a chance to win one of four $50 gift cards.

  • Trips of any distance or duration count
  • Each logged trip = one entry
  • Full contest details and rules are available on our website.

Webinar Series - Join weekly lunchtime webinars from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m., covering topics such as cycling safety, basic bike maintenance, health equity, and more, as listed below (plus a $20 gift card draw per session).

Bike Scavenger Hunt - Continue the cycling momentum into the summer! Discover Halton Hills on two wheels with our Bike Scavenger Hunt! Ride solo or with friends, find designated locations around Town, and snap a selfie with your bike at each spot for a chance to win great prizes.
